4 of 5 Decent player with some minor flaws Sunday, July 27, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
The display is crisp and clear. The battery life is good. The over all experience of owning this player is pretty positive. The few complaints I have is that the sliding bar is not as easy to use as the circular touch pad on the iPod. Navigation menus could have been designed better and sometime isn't very intuitive. The earphone that the player comes with isn't very high in quality and needed to be replace with something better, but that's true with almost all MP3 players. And lastly, the case that comes with the player doesn't have any way to clip or attach to anything else so it can only go into the pocket and it doesn't have easy access to button so you have to take it out of the case to do anything. 5 of 5 Simply Brilliant! Saturday, July 12, 2008 Travelin' Man from Columbus OH
I'm one of those people who just will not read manuals or any documentation when i buy a new product. Consequently I hated this thing from the getgo. It sucked as far as I was concerned..if it had been any easier to return, I would have done so. BUT just before taking that step, i actually opened the quick start guide, and then read bits of the manual!
Experienced several 'D'Oh' moments and suddenly I was off to the races with this Player.
BRILLIANT! - i love the piezo-type slider!
It's a bit finicky to swith on and off, but navigation is easy and the battery life is AOK, and replay fidelity is superb!
If there's another special pricing deal i'll buy extras for spouse and teens! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great value for the price Wednesday, July 02, 2008 Dwight from Woodbridge, VA
Received my 4 GB MEIZU SL about two weeks ago and very satisfied with its performance. Bought for $96.00 and once I receive my $47.00 BUY.com rebate, final cost will be $49.00. Video and audio quality are excellent. Best bass sound of any MP3 player I have purchased! Very light and slim. Great for use at the gym or running. Video converter works great. Very few hiccups during playback. Slide control takes some adjustment but with time, easy to use. Hopefully, upcoming firmware upgrades will address the touch pad control. Lots of additional features.
Pros: Price, size and weight, audio and video quality, PC/player integration/management, equalizer, user defined backgrounds
Cons: Menu functionality/touch slide control Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Hard to Control Tuesday, July 01, 2008 carl from Houston, TX
The touch screen is too sensitive. It is hard to make a selection. Otherwise is a wonderful machine. The battery last much longer than i-pod. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Love It! Monday, June 30, 2008 Lynda Thompson from West Columbia, TX
Great Size and screen image is very sharp. Downloading music files is so simple and straightforward, even my computer illiterate husband was able to do it with very little instruction. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic player Saturday, June 28, 2008 Colin Dean from Volant, PA
This is perhaps one of the best music players on the market. Its handling of a variety of audio formats is exceptional, and the FM tuner with recording is also, fantastic. I wish that the device could handle more video formats to reduce the frequency of having to transcode files, but for an ultra-slim player, it's not half bad. The battery life is excellent, too.
The only thing that could make this player better is if Meizu open-sourced the firmware. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Terrific Product! Great Value! Sunday, June 22, 2008 LFM from Lexington, NC
I bought this mp3 player because of the mail in rebate some weeks back. I had my doubts because I had never heard of it before. Turns out, it is extremely good and I am very pleased. The quality of the headphones is superb, rich deep bass is just pleasant to the ear. If you are like me (I don't care much about brand names or looks), then you will be pleased with this player. It is small, thin, very pleasant to the eye. I have a large catalog of music that I have encoded in mp3 and ogg vorbis formats, so I do no care about subscription protected wma although the player support unprotected wma. It does not show album art but again all I want is listen to music. The only thing that I would change is that it takes a lot of time when playing from transferred playlist. Connectivity to PC is painless. Have used it on both XP and Vista and transferring is a snap. I use mediamonkey but WMP also works fine and they are both fast. I would strongly recommend it if you want an easy to use player with great sound! Was this review helpful?
